PARTING

I’m the loser
Of this game…
Nevermore to win again,
For I’ll be haunted
By this loss
At every step,
Each path I cross.

Forever gone,
What could have been,
And now left in its place…
An empty house,
A sad refrain,
And memories
So soon to fade.

Defeated, I
Will step aside
And on the sidelines wait,
Watching those who
Know the rules
Enjoy a better fate…
Than parting ways.

  2. There are no winners or losers in this game of life,
Yet we place so highly that it might.
So to say you'll never win again
Is to say you'll never try it ever again.
To be haunted is just a lesson learned,
And some of us it takes a few, for I know is true.
I'm not dismissing it, I know the pain.
I was told "I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it when I sorrow most; 'is better to have loved and lost,
Than never to have loved at all."
To sit on the sidelines is no life, you know the rules
    You know I'm right.
Not saying it gets better over night,
So trust in Him who gives us life.
Now let me start again and say we're all Winners in Christ,
To say He took our place, He knows our pains and sorrows.
Disclaimer: I'm not dismissing your feeling for I've never
    written like this before.
